Island Hopping Team Building Adventures
Langkawi Island Malaysia, Fiji, Hamilton, Hayman and the exotic Bahamas play host to Sabre events for some of our most prestigious clients.
Exciting locations like Langkawi Island, Fiji, Hayman Island and the Bahamas are the sort of places that dreams are made of both for clients and the Sabre team. So far this year many of these dreams have come true with unique and effective programmes designed for, and delivered in, these amazing places.
American
Express underwent a tailor made journey centred around the Magical
Malaysian Kris Knife in the lush tropical surrounds of Langkawi
Island. Fun, adventure and the balance between functional efficiency
and cross-functional awareness within the organisation were carefully
dovetailed with local history and mythology for Australasian, ASEAN,
Indian and Japanese groups.
Fun in the Fiji sun was next on the island hopping itinerary with our friends from Glaxo-Wellcome. In close co-operation with the senior management and training teams of Glaxo- Wellcome we delivered a spectacular cross-divisional experiential learning programme to the total sales team in Fiji.
Not only were we able to tap into the rich local history and mythology of Fiji, but in accordance with the conference theme of "Make a Difference", Glaxo-Wellcome and Sabre were able to help the local community. Our event enabled a cyclone proof house to be built for a needy family in the Fiji hills. This was a wonderful opportunity for Sabre and our clients to make a difference to some real people in need.
Mars Confectionery is a client that always keeps us on our toes with innovative business approaches to their conference and sales programme. This year was no exception with themes as diverse as Gilligan's Island, Fantasy Island and the Love Boat for their Hamilton Island gathering. Sabre designed a series of complex challenges and events to re-enforce key themes, and as usual the dynamic and energetic Mars team came through with flying colours. The very loud tropical shirts used to denote teams in the field really suited the group (a bit brighter than the fancy white martial arts gear they donned last year).
The Bahamas presented Sabre with arguably our most exciting location to date with the classic Bahamian scenery and the amazing venue of Sun's Atlantis Resort, which truly has to be seen to be believed. Brilliant sandy beaches, shark filled resort lagoons (not actually used during the programme), sunken Atlantean ruins, an Aztec Pyramid and many other surprises served as a great backdrop for our unique programme and Candle's international team event.
Based upon the Lost city of Atlantis theme the teams embarked upon a complex and highly tailored journey for the Lost Crystal and the aspects of good team process skills and awareness it represented. It's not every day that we get to play with the Atlantis myth in a place that is held up by some archaeologists as the possible location for the sunken city (not to mention the infamous Bermuda Triangle). A celebrity hotel guest, former US President George Bush and his Secret Service guards, also added some excitement to the already impressive setting.
Exact details of our MD's visits to several local reggae clubs (naturally in the context of delivering the programme) are still to be brought forward for publishing!
Sabre loves opportunities like this to tailor unique, effective and exciting programme options for exotic international destinations. Clever approaches to team-based events and programmes always enhances the experience and impact for delegates and the organisation alike.
