One of Sabre's historic vehicles used in Army Birthday Bash

Sometimes our military vehicles get used for more than just themed corporate team building events. We often loan them out for use in community events RSL displays, schools etc.

Recently the Brisbane based 8/9 Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment staged a Military Tattoo as part of its birthday celebrations at Gallipoli Barracks Enogerra.

The Battalion wished to celebrate with massed pipe bands, a full Battalion parade, Edinburgh Tattoo style military stunts and a parade of military vehicles and uniforms spanning the history and activities of the unit.

Our Ferret MK 2 Scout Car was loaned to the Battalion and helped represent the period of the 1950's and 60's when that type of vehicle was used alongside troops from the unit. The vehicle played a part in the parade and subsequent static displays in front of the assembled crowds of military and civil dignitaries.

The Ferret even got a close up inspection and the tick of approval from John Schumann of Redgum and "I Was Only 19" fame.

So next time our little beast gets used on a military themed corporate event such The Strike Force or The Executive Warfare centre, or a community event, it will look and run better thanks to all of the TLC it has ben given by the boys in the Tech Suport Platoon at 8/9.
