150 Mitre 10 team members from across Australia successfully take on our Kon Tiki team building challenge.
Members of the Sabre team recently helped to launch a colourful flotilla of 15 hand-crafted boats onto the crystal-blue waters of Hamilton Island’s famous Catseye Beach. Our Kon Tiki boat challenge is a hoot, and works so well at this location..
Teams from Mitre 10 stores across Australia competed to design, build and race their vessels through a series of challenges that tested both speed and seaworthiness.
These highly motivated and capable participants rose to the occasion — every boat completed the course intact, a true testament to their teamwork, creativity and determination.
This sophiticated boat building challenge was designed by us in the early 1990's, and it's still going strong with us and under license with other selected team building partners. It can work stand-alone or be delivered in tandem with Belbin Team Role Workshops and other activity formats for conferences and off-sites.
As the summer heat approaches, demand for our Kon Tiki Boat Building Challenge always surges. It’s an engaging, hands-on team event that blends problem-solving, collaboration and plenty of laughs — and when we get to run it somewhere as spectacular as Hamilton Island, it’s an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Looks like an incredible team-building experience — nothing brings people together quite like water and a good challenge! 🌊 If you love being in the water and want to improve your technique or fitness, check out Train Daly for expert swim coaching and performance training programs. 🏊♂️💪
