Teamwork and the social contract with Sabre and Belbin.

The best teams don’t leave teamwork to chance. A focus on how we work together can pay off now and in the long run.


Sometimes we gloss over the fact that teamwork is hard. Having a shared purpose, clear expectations, complementary roles and behaviours, and mutual accountability doesn't just happen.


But where do you start?


By spending time agreeing how the team will work together. Afterall, the most effective teams don’t just focus on what they’re doing. They’re clear on how they work together.


This is where a Team Contract can make a real difference. It helps teams answer questions like:


  • What’s expected of me - and of others? 

  • How do we make decisions?

  • How do we handle challenge or disagreement?

  • How do we celebrate success and learn from setbacks?


Using the Belbin reports and framework can really help these conversations. For decades Sabre have used the individual and team Belbin reports to help teams better undertsand one-another and what makes their team tick as a collective.
