Team Building via Making Movies and Ads
Making your own films or TV Ads using cameras, sound gear, costumes, make-up and the all important creative aspects such as scripting, story-boarding etc is a great medium for team building. Two of our most popular approaches are Movie Magic for making short films in various famous Hollywood genre, and The Agency for making creative TV ads or 'mockumentaries' in the "Gruen" tradition (even though we were doing this one before Gruen lol).
Making Movies together is a great deal of fun, and provides many laughs during the screenings and awards. It can also be a wonderful "Trojan Horse" for some great learning outcomes, inclusion of business themes and a revealing real-time project.
For many years we have deployed our Movie Magic format for teams to creatively and hilariously script, story-board, produce and star in their very own versions of famous Hollywood film genre.
After a series of sophisticated skills workshops (script, story-board, make-up, technical etc) teams are issued all of the specialist technical equipment, costumes, make-up, wigs and support to tackle their very own film production.
Business themes, values or conference messages can be creatively inetgrated into numerous genre (with costumes and props to match) and they include Superhero, Western, War, Martial Arts, Musicals, Action-Adventure, Sci-Fi, Reality TV, Spy and much more.
The Agency is the smaller scale sibling of our more complex Movie Making events, and requires teams to creatively tackle the scripting, story-boarding and production of their very own TV ads ("Gruen" style).
It's a creative and effective way to get teams integrating selected key themes and messages into a real-time project in a memorable and hilarious way.
Teams invariably come up with some of their own cheeky and innovative approaches to the incorporation of the business themes, values or simply some amazing and unusual products.
The OverDub Challenge
With access to bizarre film clips and props for a full Hollywood style Foley Sound FX stage, teams must cleverly overdub selected clips with company and conference themes.
After a thorough and tailored briefing, series of skills workshops and issue of special gear teams will need to script and rehearse for their final onstage performances.
A wonderful format for incorporating conference and business content in a humorous and creative way.
