Sydney is certainly a diverse and exciting destination for meetings. By extension, it's also a great city for team building of all styles.
In fact Sabre has been delivering team building in Sydney since 1988 in locations as diverse as Manly, The CBD, Western Sydney, The Northern Beaches and The Blue Mountains.
Team building and team development events for corporate, government and education clients in Sydney can incorporate many locations such as the Opera House, Sydney Harbour, Luna Park, The Rocks, Harbour Bridge and Botanical Gardens, Paramatta, Blue Mountains or an all round Sydney Amazing Race style event, or perhaps with some "Gruen style" The Agency TV Ad Making?
It's important when working to create a memorable and effective programme for this great city that truly local expertise is utilised, and Sabre are truly the Sydney team building experts. We can do all from serious fun to serious outcomes.
Great indoor options can also be delivered in Sydney with Fashion Fiasco fashion shows, Picture Perfect team painting and Movie Magic movie-making being examples of great wet weather / all weather team building options.

Where should we run our Sydney team building event?
Sydney offers so many unique and exciting venues for events that it's often hard for a client to pin down excactly what locations to include. We have started and finished our events in everything from ballrooms and famous restaurants to the Rocks, Harbour Bridge, Opera House or even the Botanic Gardens.
Since 1988 we have designed and delivered everything from purely fun games and activities to more structured team building and leadership development approaches for Sydney meeting and conference venues.
In terms of "Out and About" team challenges such as Amazing Races, Quests or Ad Making style challenges we generally think of locations such as "The Rocks", "Darling Harbour", "Luna Park" and the "Opera House" as striking Sydney landmarks that can also be people and event friendly (when proper permissions are acquired that is).
They also look great in the background of any team photos and videos, particularly if you have interstate and overseas participants you are seeking to impress.
Things to be careful of when organising team building in Sydney?
No matter how well intentioned a team building provider may be, it's also advisable to be aware of the many rules and regulations for the use of any public spaces.
The notorious Sydney "Rangers" will often leap on any unsuspecting client or provider that does not have the neccessary council and government approvals to make use of public spaces such as Observatory Hill or Hyde Park for a team activity. This can be at best a little embarassing, and at worst ruin an entire event construct. It may be tempting to just "see how we go" but in reality it's always better to do it the right way and avoid the drama.
Some often remark that the Sydney weather is becoming almost as unpredictbale as that of Melbourne, so taking into account the volatility of the weather is also wise.
For Sydney based events that are outdoors it may suffice just to issue raincoats, but even in these cases people can still get pretty unhappy with being out in the rain for hours at a time. Seems fine when planning, but on the day not so much fun.
Organising a wet weather option in advance for any Sydney team building event can be useful precaution to take. It can also be wise to select either an indoor team activity option or one that will actually have the flexibility to work indoors or outdoors if Sydney weather is a concern. In any case we know summers can be hot, and the winters cold so often an indoor or mixed indoor and outdoor option can be a good call regardless of whether it rains or not.
Another factor to be wary of in Sydney for any team based activity is the notorious traffic. If using vehicles or coaches to move teams, what might seem a reasonable "fudge factor" can quickly be eroded away by unexpected traffic snarls. It's usually best to avoid all relaince upon moving through traffic when planning a Sydney team building approach that may tempt you to use min-vans or buses.
Keeping it simple and on foot in and around the CBD is usually a safer strategy and designing routes and inclusion of venues for team building in and around places such as The Rocks, Darling Harbour or the CBD itself.
For meetings, conferences and incentives that are keen to run team building concepts and approaches in Sydney there are many options, and if the right planning and awareness goes in at the front end of the process they can be a big success. In many cases a little planning at the front end with big events where venues may have limited space can save a lot of pain on delivery day.

Some of the many venues in and around Sydney that we have worked with are...
The Sydney Hilton - Right in the heart of Sydney, we have delivered quite a lot of indoor team-based challenges here over the years. It can also be a suitable base for Races and Quests that will get teams out and about in the CBD precinct.
The Sebel Hawksbury - Having spacious grounds this makes a perfect location for some of our outdoor approaches. Being right next to the RAAF base, the overflight of Hercules aircraft also adds some atmosphere to a Strike Force event.
The Newport Mirage - A lovely property and their waterfront position makes it not only picturesque, but also very suitable for our water-based Kon Tiki challenge / boat building event.
The Sheraton On The Park - Being nice and central, and also right next to a huge leafy park makes this a great base for Amazing Races / out and about in the Sydney CBD style approaches. We can also do some wonderful indoor business games here.
SUMMER TEAM BUILDING IN SYDNEY:
THE SUMMER MONTHS CAN CREATE UNPLEASANT OUTDOOR CONDITIONS. Summer team building in Sydney should actively take into account delegate comfort and safety, especially for any extended outdoor activities. Whilst it may seem fine when planning the event, on the day extreme heat in some locations can sap team morale and worse for less robust participants. Indoor options can be best where there is any doubt.
Team Development in Sydney (as opposed to one-off events)
Sabre also offers our unique Team Building Sydney - Team DNA packages that blend behavioural profiling, workshops and activity content.
True "team development" is a more sophisticated process that requires a higher degree of knowledge, skill and tailoring to get right. For team development in Sydney Sabre can assist with decades of experience in going beyond one-off team building experiences to achieve true team development outcomes.
We can draw from not just experiential / action-oriented content, but also Belbin behavioural profiles and reports (for evidence based foundations to tailored programme design). We can even use cutting edge insights from neuroscience and the social systems of the human brain (as they relate to team and leadership development).
